CUSTOMISED DENIM
Being a kid and a teenager I had always a thing for drawing on walls and floor. At some point my parents gave up and have never disturbed me from doing that. At least once a month a new painting had to appear on one of my bedroom's walls. After I have started my degree in London I have discovered a very exiting feeling that I am experiencing while holding a colour spray and using this as a part of the design for my trench coat.
I wanted to continue experimenting with materials, which originally were made for the other purpose . I thought it will be fun to break the rules and draw something beautiful on my new pair of jeans. There was a lot of similar stuff going on in a punk-rock subculture and fashion, but I have tried to make the drawings look less "rebel" and more random and careless. The script on the jeans are actually the lyrics of one of my favourite tracks made by one russian rapper. We have actually sent the picture of the jeans to him and his reaction was very pleasant and cheerful.
Using the permanent markers as an experiment, made these jeans almost not washable. If I will decide to continue with this type of customisation, I will have to empty the shelves with the fabric markers in one of our local art supplies stores..
Enjoy the great photos made by my friend photographer Jaroslava Radina! <3
