Red Valentino Resort 2018 Inspired drawing
One of the main parts in design process is fashion illustration. Fashion illustration is the message or idea, which designer is trying to pass on for the customers and viewers.
Being a beginner in this industry, I encourage myself for practising my drawing skills as much as possible. One of the hardest things for me is transferring fabric on a piece of paper. Every time while doing it, I am asking myself what kind of six sense I will have to unblock in myself to make this skill develop itself.
But believe it or not, being extremely far from the desired result, I admit that my drawings have improved. If i will compare my current work to the drawings that I have made couple of years ago - the progress can be definitely seen!
One of my other habits of practising my skills - is to take existing image and re-draw it. Redrawing from a photography makes the process more interesting and it gives you opportunity to unlock your "deep" kind of vision of the garment and try to reproduce it again with pencils and pens.
This time I have picked up the outfit from Red Valentino Resort '18 runway show. While drawing it I decided to go for a little bit more mysterious and dark make up for the model, as well as hair. Ask me why is it light blue - I won't have any reasonable answer to that. "I am an artist-This is how I see it" *lol*
This way of styling is probably what I can already start calling "my signature". Most of the works that I have done during last couple of years - I have always used a touch of gothic mood for the models. I'm not in to gothic culture myself and I don't like it when it's too literal, but in the nearest future I don't see my designs sweet and peachy. Let's leave this for good girls.
Anyway this drawing has nothing to do with great design ideas or else, it's just an evening practice and doodling around while listening to some tunes.
Skip that text if you are an extreme time saver, subscribe for more and more interesting upcoming.
